What is democracy? What is its purpose?

Democracy is simply a government by the people, of the people and for the people. In order words, It is a Government in which the greatest power is exercised or given to the citizens of a country.

purpose: I believe the purpose of democracy is to give equal rights, economic right, political right and the right to freedom of speech and to vote in the government the citizens want as leaders.

worldwide, 780 million people do not have access to an improved water source. an estimated 2.5 billion people lack access to improved sanitation (more than 35% of the world's population)
