This passage from “ An Episode of war” by Stephen Crane. Is this realism or naturalism and why ?

Explanation:

Realism depicts things as they really are while Naturalism depicts things realistically but focuses on the inability of people to resist their circumstances.  

The fact that the the soldier is caught up more in his circumstance, "He wore the look of one knows he is the victim of a terrible disease and understands his helplessness” shows his inability to not show his true fear of what is happening.
