In colonial America, who were the Sons of Liberty?

The group consisted of Samuel Adams, Joseph Warren, Paul Revere, Benedict Arnold, Benjamin Edes, John Hancock, Patrick Henry, John Lamb, William Mackay, Alexander McDougall, James Otis, Benjamin Rush, Isaac Sears, Haym Solomon, James Swan, Charles Thomson, Thomas Young, Marinus Willett, and Oliver Wolcott. This group was founded by Samuel Adams and was a revolutionary organization which was against taxation and the British government/rule over the thirteen colonies. This organization led the Boston Tea Party where lots of tea was dumped into the Boston Harbor in protest of taxation. After this, the harbor was shut down and strict rules were put in place.
