How did population shifts change American life during the war?

Usually the population of the United States has always been growing, if you’re talking about WWI & WWII, then there were many changes in population. The main was that women were now in the workforce, they took the jobs that men left behind, although many of them had to relinquish such jobs after the men were back. In the Great War, many young Americans had the idea that war was glorious an heroic, but after they witnessed some of its horrors, the attitude towards war changed. This would lead to many protests about the war in the 60’s. Economically speaking, we also benefited from wars, not only that but our population always seems to grow after one.
