What are some different reasons that people supported abolition (ending of slavery)

the big one was for equal rights. it's unfair for someone to be considered less than a person. An economic reason was that the slave trade soon started to not make a profit also. Plantation were also fading out. with new inventions, it was cheaper to buy a machine than use a person who would take twice as long.
