Why was an exile considered lonely and vulnerable in anglo-saxon society?

a.) if a warrior was exiled, he was an easy target for marauders.
b.) men who were thrown from society were doomed to be either beaten or ignored until they died.
c.) outside of the relationship of comitatus, a man had no home, no protection, no lord.

the mother countries succeed in doing that by using the colony's natural resources, facilities in a colony, they do not take good care of these facilities, causing them to fail. this has had negative and positive effects on the people of africa, they then governed through direct or indirect rule depending on the country.
