Imagine you are a member of the Paris Peace conference and you are tasked with writing 2 clauses for the treaty to end WWI. Using what you know about the treaty that was signed pick 2 of the original clauses to either edit or rewrite completely. 1. original clause 2. your clause 3. your reasoning for the changes you made i. e. why it's better? how it would prevent WWII, the rise of Hitler? etc...

The three steps before modern english were indo-european, germanic, and old english. as peoples moved around the eurasian continent, their languages changed. throughout the ages, the languages became more specialized. as english has many germanic influences, it is easy to see how this was one of the forebears. also, old english was one of the main ancestors of the modern language, spoken in the 5th through about the 13th centuries.
