Well, there first strategy was that the union navy would blockade southern ports, so that they could neither export or cotton nor import need manufactured goods, there second strategy was that the union river boats and armies would move down the Mississippi river and split the confederacy in two and number three union armies would capture the confederate capital at Richmond Virginia.after snake that suffocates its victims
