IN both, World war 1 and World war 2, America was very isolationist. In both wars No one wanted US to come into the war except Britain, France, Russia.

This was basically a death sentence for the Nazi/ Japanese countries.

In world war one, the US were key contributors to sinking German vessels and supply boats.  U.S. forces were sent to Europe during World War I  and were called the American Expeditionary Forces.

In world war two, America was fighting two fronts of war. One in Europe against the Germans, and the other in the pacific against the Japanese. In world war two, there were many more american casualties. counting up to 405,000. This is dwarfing Americas loses in world war one by  288,484 men.
