President Reagan's use of the phrase "It is  morning in America" helped him win the presidential elections in 1984. He used this slogan to describe the prospering economy and living standards of the American Citizens. He described that the shadows have uplifted.

This slogan for his presidential campaign depicted his uplifted spirit in the darkest of times. For example when he was shot, he kept his spirit high and used this slogan. It gave Americans the hope and spirit that they needed to get through tough times.
