They both flourished. Because of their reason of settlement, I think Massachusetts Bay is more successful colony in terms of shaping America's future. towns and communities. He wanted his city to stand on top of hill and everybody else to look upon it as a city as an idol so other settlers could follow in the footsteps of how a city should actually be like.
