How do you think population growth contributed to the industrial revolution?

For many people, the population growth that occurred after the Industrial Revolution was a promising achievement for humanity: it was a conquest of man who, by adapting better to life on the planet, could live more and more. For others, population growth was a matter of concern and should be tackled as it heralded major future problems.
