The North American Free Trade Agreement was signed by both Canada, mexico and USA creating what was called the trilateral trade bloc in North America. the agreement came into live in January 1 1994.

The U.S present Ronald Reagan in 1980 began the North American free trade, which he used as part of his presidential campaign promises. when the agreement of the Canada-United States Free Trade was signed in 1988, the later Governments  of Mexican president Carlos Salinas de Gortari, U.S. president George H. W. Bush, and Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney resolved  to approve what became NAFTA.

After each president signed the agreement in December 1992, a stiff opposition or resistance was faced in both the USA and Canada

The  NAFTA in 1993 was finally ratified by all three countries after a two side agreement was created called  the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC), and the North American Agreement on Labor Cooperation (NAALC)
