The Russian revolution affected the war by B. freeing up German men in the west.

After Brest-Litovsk Treaty was brought to force, the war no longer continued between Germany and Russia. This allowed Germany (which had its army fighting on both the east and the west boundaries) to move all its troops fighting in the east to join the troops in the west.

The troops in the west that were tired after fighting with the French and the British were freed up after the arrival of troops from the east.
