He burwell v. hobby lobby stores (2012) supreme court case was ruled 5-4 in favor of hobby lobby, saying that the free exercise clause had been violated by the government rule forcing the owners of hobby lobby to purchase birth control for their employees. the 5-4 ruling shows us that
