Explain the argument between the eastern orthodox church and the roman catholic church. what were its origins and how was it resolved

The issue was: did the holy spirit "proceed" from the father alone or from the father and the son (filioque clause) never been resolved, and led to the great schism in 1054, the other cause was primate of bishop of rome over other bishops including patriarch of constantinople, the eastern christians didn't belived that bishop of rome should be primate over the patrarch in the east
