How did europes high demand for cotton effect people around the world

It made people want the cotton more than any other product. They called it "white gold".  It caused people to believe that the world could get better with plantations and "negro overseers". It caused people to believe that it was right to decide that "right was wrong".

lincoln declared that slavery should not be allowed to spread into the new states, and of course this angered the south at the time.
