How were the reigns of james i and charles i different from those of the tudors before them?

James I and Charles I belonged to the Stuart Dynasty which was quite different from that of the Tudors.

Even though both dynasties were despotic and went for strong absolutism, they differed in many aspects. The Tudors had an implicit support of the divine hereditary right of the Crown, while the Stuarts made it explicit. As a consequence, people did not like the Stuarts because of their pedantry. From the political point of view, Tudors and the Parliament were in good terms since they had common interests. Instead, the Stuarts and the Parliament were enemies.
