In many ways the Ottomans seem to borrow cutting edge technologies from Europe selectively. Like as military system, education system,health system.

Explanation: Ottomans are one of longest reigned empire in the world.They were self-improved by themselves until 17th century.But at 17th century they started to get information from their agent in Europe about the improvement of various technology by Europe. Then the sultan of ottoman invited many European specialists to help them with the technology. Like he was interested about handgun and cannon developed by European.

They also borrowed the modern war and military knowledge and technology from Europe.

Ottomans were also impressed by the education system of Europe as they used to have the old master-apprentice system of education. Europe provided them new models of higher education system.

So we can say that ottomans borrowed selectively military and education technology from Europe.
