Who won the battle for stalingard during world war 2

Russia won.  German forces were defeated in their attempt to capture an industrial port on the Volga River in the Soviet Union.  This battle was the turning point in WWII because it was a crushing defeat for the Nazis.

German General Friedrich Paulus went against Hitler's orders and surrendered his weakened troops to Russia on February 2, 1943, an act which Hitler later called treason. Germany's defeat at the Battle of Stalingrad was a pivotal point in the war.
