It was also very popular in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, and was used in various buildings and monuments in Europe and the USA.  Limestone is also used to build roads, in the manufacture of cement and to extract iron from its ore.

Therefore limestone is the most appropriate for construction.

After analyzing the costs and benefits, I would choose to rebuild the castle walls using granite. Granite is more expensive than limestone, but it will last longer and provides more safety in case of an attack. This will increase the people's approval of me, because they will know that I care about their safety more than I care about money.
