World war 2 represents a turning point in modern world history because it remains the only war to use nuclear weapons in the history of armed conflict.  World War 2 was more advanced in military technology example, aerial bombing and the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing  129,000–226,000 people, most of whom were civilians.

i believe the correct answer is option b. most eastern european nations joined nato.

though i could be wrong, option d. the eastern european nations were granted complete independence, would be another choice.
