How did the election of rutherford b. hayes to the presidency impact african americans in the south?

The election of Rutherford B. Hayes to the presidency on 1876 brought the end of the Reconstruction and therefore, several negative effects to the African Americans of the South.

After Reconstruction troops were withdrawn from the South, African Americans started to be harassed, threatened and killed by groups of white people who were against them. Also, segregation was legalized and their right to vote was denied with different methods.
