Was madison’s foreign policy more successful than jefferson’s? why or why not?

Madison's foreign policy was less successful than Jefferson's mainly because it led to the War of 1812.

Thomas Jefferson achieved many accomplishments  like the alliance with France in the War of Independence, the Louisiana Territory acquisition, even though he passed the Embargo Act that stopped American ships from trading in foreign ports it was removed before he left office, and he managed to keep peace with Britain and France. Although James Madison's foreign policy was a continuation of Jefferson's it had one big failure and that was the War of 1812 and America was not ready for war.
