Legal traditions in america today, we live under laws that are rooted in ancient traditions. it's rather eye-opening to trace some of our most basic rights to laws of civilizations that existed 2000 to 4000 years ago!

employers subject to title vii are prohibited from taking race or sex into account in any employment decisions. aa is a penalty for having any job group substantially statistically "underutilized" in any race or either sex. the employer must take steps to eliminate the underutilization, then stop, ending its aa efforts

i think it was because of how protected egyptian civilization was was which allowed them to evolve without much outside influence.
