-The religion saw an increase in fervor as the new protestants and united Catholics kingdoms in Spain wanted to spread their own versions of Christianity to people in new world .

-The main religion of the Europeans was Christianity, whom of which believed that their god was thee god, that if they could spread their christian views could make these prosperous natives a "super society" of sorts. They believed that they were helping the natives, doing them good.

-The Spanish would be able to take on slaves by saying that their aim was to Christianize them, that they would save their souls to justify the labor being enforced.

-The trade required new secure routes to obtain the riches from Africa, Asia, and India when the ottoman Turks closed Europeans access to the east, Though trade was one of the most influencing factors in Columbus's journey, as they were attempting to find easier and less expensive trade routes du to Constantinople falling to the Turks,  the English received only few spices and syphilis. tobacco and colonization were what really mattered.

-The technology saw advances during the renaissance, such as the sailing compass, map making, gunpowder, and the printing press that expanded the knowledge necessary to support exploration.
