How did salutary neglect lead colonists to rebel against great britain?

It led to the same sentiments as the French Revolution put out, leading to the same feeling of neglect in Britain, eventually sparking the American Revolution :)

Salutary neglect was an unofficial British policy that consisted on an unintentional lack of enforcement by the British of British trade laws in the American colonies. Thus, the companies and merchants in the American colonies governed themselves with little supervision from the British government.

During the salutary neglect period, the British government did not enforce their laws in the colonies, so the American colonists became accustomed to governing themselves, thus developing a sense of independence or self-governing.

When the salutary came to an end in the 1760s, the American colonists resented and groups like the Sons of Liberty formed to protest the new taxes, turning the situation in the colonies very volatile.
