Â
Explanation
The Cherokee removal is referred to as the forced large- scale displacement of Cherokees from their homeland to the Indian territories. This was in effect to the social, political, cultural and economic differences between the native Americans and the White Settlers. The removal of Cherokee can be thus termed as an extension of racially prejudicial conduct of America for natives in the 19th century.
Further Explanation
The Cherokees were not considered socially equal to Whites and were considered inferiors to them. The urge to establish White supremacy and dominance over native Americans can be regarded as one of the reasons for the removal of Cherokee.
The White settlers had now formed a Republican government in America and they had made stringent efforts for Indians to adopt their style and standards of living. However, the Indians had always resisted this interference and they had maintained that they had their independent sovereign nation. The question of different sovereign nation within America was not acceptable to the mainstream political class of the State.
The removal of Cherokees can also be in effect to cater to the demand of arable land to promote commercially viable cotton agriculture. These areas of lands were possessed by Cherokees who had made it complex for the Whites to carry on their ambitions. It is in this manner that Cherokees were removed for economic reasons.
The Cherokees were culturally different from the Whites. They had traditionally practiced hunting and had lived a tribal life. The Whites were opposed to their way of living and always wanted them to get educated and behave culturally different. Thus there persisted a  huge amount of cultural differences between both of them.
