Through history, Denmark and Norway have had a good relationship. During the Second World War, Germany invaded Norway. On April 9, 1940, the German Army invaded Norway. Hitler had a code for the invasion. It was “Weserübung”. That code meant that Denmark was going to be invaded too. Germany wanted to control the coast of Norway and the North Sea, as long as the navigation of German submarines and warships to the Atlantic.
