Describe the key principles of the policy of containment forged by american diplomat george f. kennan.

Kenan advocated policy of non-provocative resistance.  It was aimed at maintaining the peace without resorting to war or pacification.  Kenan saw some cracks in Communist Russia’s system of government and he believed that in time this would lead to the break-up of the Soviet Union.
