How did these attitudes change over the course of reconstruction ?

After the war, the South featured a tough amount of reconstruction its government and economy and managing more than 3 million new freed African Americans. The tragedy of Reconstruction was that blacks and whites who tried to make an additional populist society within the South were lacking the resources which were needed to achieve their goals.
Several slaves who had been cramped all their lives had no "where" to go.
Although they were delighted to be free,the nice day of  rejoicing,but this new state of freedom conjointly caused uncertainty. Some stayed on recent plantations, others floated off in search of lost family. Several slave house owners were glad to urge obviate " oppressive slaves" and threw them out "just like american capitalists." Some former slaves, particularly in cities like Charleston, enjoyed their freedom in ways, which the white people thought were ill-mannered, they placed on fancy garments, marched through the streets and showed none of their former divergent perspectives toward their late masters.
