What factor attracted settlers from the east to the oregon country in the 1840s

In the 1840s many settlers moved to new land because of these factors. They wanted a new life for their children, a better education, they wanted to spread religion, and the most important and most lily to be your answer is gold. Many people moved to the Oregon country because of rumors that there is gold.
