The technologies that focus primarily on heart health can be divided into a couple of categories.

Medical technologies include blood tests for cholesterol levels and blood pressure monitors to test how high or low your blood pressure is. An Echocardiogram is a machine which uses sound waves to produce images of your heart. This allows doctors to see your heart beating. An x-ray machine can take x-rays of your heart allowing doctors to see the shape of your heart. 
Fitness devices commonly include heart rate monitors. These devices pick up the speed at which your heart is beating during exercise. This data is then used to determine how fit you are.
