A 20 day old girl was admitted with severe congestive heart failure. She had experienced worsening dyspnea with a respiratoryrate of 60 bpm. Clinical examination revealed a low volumepulse with a delayed peak at a rate of 150 bpm and bloodpressure of 80/50 mmHg. The child was treated with dopamine, digoxin, furosemide, spironolactone, and acenocoumarol, and her condition improved. Final diagnosis: Congestive heart failure.
