This is used in order to immobilize the wrist, protecting it from further damage and allow for it to heal.  To do a splint, you would need an object that is hard to bend. It can be a stick, a plank, or a rolled newspaper. You should be careful in using materials that has sharp edges. It should be wrapped in cloth. After putting the rigid object to the area, you have  to fasten it in place so you can use ropes, strips of cloth, shoelaces or medical tape. You should not be using ordinary tapes as this could cause more injury on the skin.
