Well, When teens have more independent time, it means that they have more time to play. You see, games are very addicting and teens can refuse to eat if they are too adicted to the game.

Or if "Independent" means living alone, then they could have poor eating habits because they are used to their parents making the food for them. Because they didn't learn how to cook, they are forced to to-go junk foods to keep their belly full.

giving teens independence means most of the time they don’t give themself a structure or limit. so that also means they don’t have someone to tell them when to stop. Taking eating for example it’s so easy to see the McDonald’s sign and be drawn to it. Eventually there just gonna keep going and going. Leading to poor eating habits.
