Just as you are returning to the station from a call you have had time to clean and prepare the equipment for the next call, but you have not had time to refill the ambulance's gas tank. The gas tank holds 26 gallons of fuel and
you know that the ambulance gets 11 miles per gallon of fuel. You hear the tones sound, and the dispatcher
calls you to an urgent call and he tells you that the scene is in a remote part of the county that is 40 miles away.
You are worried that you may not have enough fuel and you see that your tank is exactly one-half full. Based
upon the previous numbers the ambulance should travel
miles before running out of fuel.
