What happens when you drink too much water?

If you drink too much water you body would get water intoxication, also known as hyponatremia. It's just like saying why is too much candy bad for you, you should never have too much of anything no matter how good or healthy it is. There should be a balance on what you drink or eat.

However, drinking too much water can also be dangerous. Overhydration can lead to water intoxication. This occurs when the amount of salt and other electrolytes in your body become too diluted. Hyponatremia is a condition in which sodium (salt) levels become dangerously low.
