To take ownership of your own feelings means to take responsibility for how you feel and place yourself responsible for your emotions. Doing this will improve communication since your awareness of the situation will increase, increasing your response to it as well. You will be less reactive and less quick to assign blame to others. Since the message will be clearer, the listener will be able to understand it better.

State as your own your values, thoughts and actions. Take back the possession, transparency, and consequential control reins which come with ownership. Take the extended finger that you've been pointing at somebody else, and turn it back to yourself. Not for fault, remorse or judgement, but for answers and creation.
