This is actually simpler than it seems.

What you would want to do first is understand military time.

0800 hours is 8am, and every 100 added to this number is equal to one hour, which mean 1300 is equal to 1pm.

That is a 5 hour difference, which means you would want to multiply 125 by 5 since the IV’s infusion is running at 125 ml an hour.

The answer to this is 625 ml used.

We aren’t finished yet though, we need to find how much is left in the IV, so we simply subtract 625 ml to the 1,000 original to the the answer of:

375 mls remaining in the IV bag.
