Based on Erik Erikson's Pyschosocial Development that is Identity vs Role Confusion, this is the fifth stage, which occurs during the adolescent years which is between the ages 12 to 18. This is the transition from childhood to adolescence. This is the beginning stage wherein children start to realize what their roles are and he or she will reexamine his or her own identity. This stage includes two identities which are the sexual and occupational.  If this stage is successfully developed, this will lead to fidelity. Failure to do so will lead to role confusion. In order to resolve this crisis, an adolescent may experiment on different lifestyles in order to find what he or she really wants for herself or himself.
