When the human body is in the anatomical position, the palms of the hands are facing forward. in more acceptable anatomical terms, you could state that the palms are the anterior surfaces of your hands, and accordingly, the thumbs are the most lateral digits. suppose that the accepted anatomical position is to have the palms facing backward. how would this new position change your description of the palms and thumbs? based on your answer to the previous question, why do you think it is important to have a universally accepted anatomical position?
