This morning after breakfast she was cleaning the dishes when she began having difficulty saying words and dropping things out of her right hand. Her husband also noticed a right-sided facial droop and right leg weakness so he brought her to the ED. A CT scan of the head was done that was reported as no intracranial hemorrhage and negative for CVA. She continues to have expressive aphasia and right hemiparesis, NIHSS=14. She had a recent cardiac stress test that was normal and her blood pressure has been well controlled. Her current medications are amlodipine, aspirin, simvastatin, ramipril and carvedilol.
