A person who has fallen is sitting on the ground complaining of pain in the lower left leg. Someone else has already called 9-1-1. How could you help care for this person while waiting for emergency medical services (EMS) personnel to arrive?

1 Have the person rest in the most comfortable position.
2 Lift the leg up so you can put some blankets underneath it.
3 Splint it to the other leg to prevent further injury.
