Professor Morooka is experiencing the arousal theory since it is a sensation that he has difficulty to cope with.

According to the theory every single person has different levels of arousal or motivation to do certain things, that feeling of satisfaction that we are always looking for is totally personal. Professor Morooka feels his highest satisfaction when he is  working, however he needs to look for a different activity in order to feel well by doing another thing that is not working and in that way develop a motivation to do something he can enjoy without the need to kill himself laboring away.
