Walter's parents strongly believe that walter should make his own decisions, so they set very few rules about homework, bedtime, and household chores. because they believe that freedom is important, they patiently tolerate all of walter's behavior, even if it is childish or immature. with respect to the caregiving styles discussed in the textbook, walter's parents are:

Permissive.

Explanation: Permissive behavior or attitude displays the quality of granting permission .This behavior understand the value of freedom and thus intend towards permitting.In this case more love and friendly nature is shown with few  rules and regulation.

Permissive parenting technique is followed by parents of Walter because they believe in the freedom of Walter and want to Walter behave in the friendly manner than providing the consistent parental guidance. They do not expect a mature behavior from Walter.
