First, /ask/ where the pain is located. You don't want to approach any victim to pain without checking where their injury is. Next, observe it. Is it round and purple? It's a bruise. Is the skin parted and bleeding? It's a cut. Apply pressure to the wound if it is bleeding to stop the bleeding. If it is a bruise, apply a warm compress. EMS should be called in an emergency. So if someone cut their finger with just a small cut, ointment and a band-aid will do. However, if it was a large cut that is pouring out, you MUST call EMS.
