Because our DNA shows many differences between person to person because of the combination of both parts of our parents genomes, it shows the diversity between all people. However, because our DNA is passed on to subsequent generations, with today’s technology we can easily track inheritance patterns of certain traits and if there are enough shared traits in certain patterns, you can determine if two people are relatives or not.
