For each of the three types of substances listed tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, write a few reasons that you or someone else might take them.

Somebody may choose to use drugs to take away their own pain, either physical or mental, to forget about things they do not want to think about or maybe because they are being pressured into doing so. There are many more reasons but these are just a few.
