Every now and again, a story will pop up about some famous sports figure using banned substances like steroids. why do these athletes take these substances? are they safe? is this cheating? is it okay for non-professional athletes to use these substances? what are your thoughts?

In my thoughts and opinions, I believe athletes take these substances because they want to be more than what they are. Stronger, bigger, bulkier, etc. They want to impress everyone else, OR they want to empress themselves. They think they aren't enough, and they need to be more.

I think its partly cheating. If your an athlete for a Football team, and you take steroids illegally, then yes, I believe that's cheating. Steroids force you to become stronger and more skilled. It would be a pretty big advantage, and un-fair to the other players.

I don't have a huge opinion on this. This is entirely up to them to take steroids. I wouldn't because like I said, it would be cheating. (To me at least.) I would want to get muscle and bulk up without cheating. I would want to know I worked to my full potential to get what I earned. But, as I have said, it's up to them. Their choice.

Overall, I don't like the idea of anyone using steroids. Athletes or not. Those are my opinions and I hope I have helped you out.
